Edward Lee, I Will

I Will

I will peel
the tight skin
from my hands
and slide the bare bones
that are my fingers
deep beneath your skin,
stop only when I feel the vibration
of your heart
passing through me.

I will look you in the eyes
and pull it from your perfect
pale-skinned body,
and as your blood paints
my white, skinless fingers,
I will raise it high
for you to see.

Then I will squeeze
and you will know
what you and
your straying body
have done to me.

Edward Lee’s poetry, short stories, non-fiction, and photography have been published in magazines in Ireland, England and America, including The Stinging Fly, Skylight 47, Acumen and Smiths Knoll. Edward also makes musical noise under the names Ayahuasca Collective, Lewis Milne, Orson Carroll, Blinded Architect, Lego Figures Fighting, and Pale Blond Boy. https://m.facebook.com/edwardleewriter/
