Submissions

Essential information for anyone interested in Dodging the Rain: https://sixquestionsfor.blogspot.com/2023/06/six-questions-for-neil-slevin-editor-in.html

Dodging the Rain is updated monthly with new content and open year-round for submissions. We like to publish a Christmas/winter-themed series each December, so wintry poetry is always welcome! Due to the amount of submissions we receive, we don’t acknowledge receipt of submissions until they’ve been reviewed; typically it takes us 3-6 months to review and respond. We thank our contributors for their patience in this regard.

If 3-6 months is too long for you to wait, we now offer a fast-tracked submissions service.

Before submitting, please read our About page and some of the poetry we’ve published in recent months. We welcome all genres of poetry; reject any promotion of intolerance, hatred or fear. Contributors maintain ownership of and the right to republish their content. We are unable to offer payment.

We will consider published material, once contributors own the rights, but no longer accept simultaneous submissions. When submitting, please inform us if your work has been published. If you do submit some published work, a mix of published and unpublished work is one we prefer.

1. Submit up to 5 poems per submission as one Docs or Word attachment
2. In the submission document or email, include a brief third-person bio re. you and your work
3. Submit by email: dtr.poetry@gmail.com
